I had a dream I was in a video game that was irl. In the game, it was like a survival/fighter game where you were partnered up. And it was underwater. I had a partner named Bailey that looked like a jellyfish when he took an underwater form (idk what I looked like) but also was a human. He and I were close friends. There was an opponnent in the game that apparently I hooked up with and he looked like a pirate from one piece almost and like I remember kissing him once then the game started and I went with Bailey. I had like a oxygen thing right with my privates(I couldn't breathe underwater) and Bailey had a squid like grabber thing on his underwater form and had to grab the oxygen thing so I he could give me oxygen so I could breathe. In the dream, I had to fight a dude once and he kept losing grip on my oxygen thing and I kept having to hold my breath then I defeated the guy and he got a good grip.(all this in 1st person) After that all I remember is seeing a hazy 3rd person view of me and Bailey sleeping together underwater and I was in his arms and he kept flashing between his underwater form and human and I stayed human. Then I remember 3rd person observing two older ladies that looked like mermaids saying "They're so perfect together" and the other said "Well, why aren't they together?" and the other said "I don't know. She chooses to still hook up with (name of the other guy) instead of seeing they're perfect. Perhaps it's the cliche of falling for her best friend" and then I flashed to me being out of the game and talking to a girl in a house and saying "So Bailey and I slept together-not like that- we didn't do anything, we just slept. It was nice" and then I flashed back and was back in the game awake and Bailey and I were still swimming around in the game. Then I woke up (Honestly, what stuck with me the most is that I could felt his thing grabbing mine and it was right at my privates and it felt oddly nice)
Your dream seems to be a rich, symbolic tapestry that intertwines elements of fantasy, relationships, and personal reflection. Here’s a breakdown of its potential meaning:
Video Game Setting: Dreaming within a video game context can indicate a sense of navigating life’s challenges and relationships in an interactive and potentially unpredictable environment. It suggests you may feel like you're playing roles or facing trials that require strategy and adaptability, much like in a game.
Underwater Environment: Water often represents emotions and the unconscious mind in dreams. Being underwater might imply that you're deeply immersed in your feelings, possibly confronting emotions that are beneath the surface in your waking life.
Bailey as a Partner: The presence of Bailey, who can alternate between human and jellyfish forms, may symbolize adaptability and the depth of your friendship. It could suggest that this person brings flexibility and support in your life. The dynamic of needing him to help you breathe indicates reliance and trust, but also a certain vulnerability in your relationship.
Switching Between Forms: The transformation of characters in your dream could indicate the fluidity of personal identity and relationships. In your dream, Bailey’s ability to switch forms might signify that people in your life can take on different roles or that your perception of them changes over time.
Pirate Opponent: The pirate-like opponent that you kissed might symbolize a more adventurous, possibly chaotic aspect of yourself or past relationships. Pirates often represent rebellion and freedom, hinting at a desire to explore different aspects of romance or passion.
Oxygen and Breathing: The emphasis on needing oxygen ties back to basic survival and might represent emotional or existential needs that must be met for you to feel alive and authentic. It suggests that you may depend on others for emotional support or fulfillment.
Mermaids and Observance: The mermaids observing and commenting on your relationship with Bailey serve as external perspectives or inner voices assessing your life choices. They highlight themes of unrecognized or unacknowledged potential in your relationships or friendships.
Cliché of Falling for the Best Friend: The mention of this cliché touches on classic relationship dynamics. It might suggest an internal conflict about romantic feelings towards friends, or questioning whether deep friendship should cross into romance.
Feelings of Touch: The vividness of physical sensations, such as Bailey grabbing your oxygen supply near your privates, reflects strong emotional connections and the blurring lines between emotional and physical experiences. This could also symbolize intimacy and closeness from someone you trust.
Transition to Reality: The shift from the game back to real life, where you discuss the platonic nature of sleeping with Bailey, indicates contemplation over real-life boundaries and feelings. It showcases a need for clarity about the depth and direction of such relationships.
Overall, this dream suggests a journey through emotions, identity, relationships, and the intricate web of personal connections. It may encourage you to explore your feelings about friendship, romance, and trust, urging you to consider how you navigate these dynamics both consciously and unconsciously.
